1. Program Criteria

To enhance the research capacity of students, the Department of Nuclear Physics - Nuclear Engineering has a long-standing tradition of selecting several fourth-year Bachelor students with excellent academic records or notable achievements for special training. Through this program, students are given opportunities to participate in the Department's activities, such as:

  • Participating in specialized research groups.
  • Improving field-specialized English proficiency.
  • Developing communication skills.
  • Cultivating discipline, a sense of responsibility, and skills in management and teamwork.
  • Having access to postgraduate classrooms and research student rooms.
  • Access to latest news about seminars and classes given by foreign professors.
  • Being provided with more opportunities to attend domestic and international conferences and specialized workshops.
  • Receiving financial support to participate in the department's social activities such as gatherings, birthday parties, Teacher's Day (November 20th) celebrations, and year-end parties.

Concurrently, these students will participate in certain activities alongside junior faculty members, including:

  • Maintaining cleanliness and being on duty at the department.
  • Assisting with library management.
  • Supporting the organization of workshops, classes, and specialized seminars.
  • Assisting in organizing important annual events such as Teacher's Day (Nov 20th), International Women's Day (Mar 8th), and year-end parties.

2. Eligibility Requirements

The Special Student group is established not only for student training but also for the department's development; therefore, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • For fourth-year students:
    • The candidate has a cumulative GPA that meets the department's requirements.
    • The candidate is conducting a thesis/project with a faculty member in the department.
    • The student, after being admitted into the group, is to be present at the department on assigned days or when required to support faculty members.
  • For graduates:
    • The candidate is continuing research collaboration with faculty members in the department.
    • The student, after being admitted to the group, will self-fund their participation in social gatherings.

3. Rules and Regulations

  • Students participate voluntarily and proactively seek a supervisor.
  • Students must actively participate in general activities and comply with the department's regulations.
  • Students may request to withdraw from the Special Student group if the program's criteria do not align with their personal aspirations.
  • The department provides all possible conditions for students to engage in scientific research and access domestic and international scholarship opportunities.
  • The department does not guarantee employment at the university for members of the Special Student group after graduation.
